A Customs Surety Bond is a license and permit surety bond required by the United States Customs department. When goods are imported into the United States, the importer is responsible for many charges, levies, penalties and duties assessed by U.S. Customs before they are allowed to pass the goods into the country. The bond guarantees that the importer will pay all customs duties and penalties assessed to them by U.S. Customs.
